Dr. Free was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma but she has spent the majority of her years in Texas, and is very excited to be back in the Katy area. She graduated Cum Laude from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine, in 2001. During the past 18 years, she has worked in both general practice and emergency medicine and enjoys soft tissue surgery.
In her free time, Dr. Free enjoys shooting sporting clays, running 5Ks, and spending time with her family.
Dr. Steve Chen

Dr. Steve Chen is a 2003 graduate from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. Born in Taiwan, he is a third-generation veterinarian, He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Taiwanese dialect. Dr. Chen served as the Chief of Staff at Banfield Pet Hospital of Katy for almost 10 years and now shares his talents with both Kingsland Blvd Animal Clinic and Animal Emergency Clinic North East in Humble. He has a special interest in soft tissue surgery and ultrasound.
Dr. Chen enjoys watching sporting events such as basketball, tennis, and college football. He enjoys playing tennis and basketball in his leisure time as —-well. Dr. Chen is married to Grace and they have a young daughter, Sonya.
Dr. Cesar Simon-Vazquez

Dr. Cesar Simon-Vazquez is a 1997 graduate from Universidad Extremadura in Spain. Dr. Simon joined Kingsland Blvd Animal Clinic is May 2022 and had been practicing several years in the Houston area but a very cool thing is that he also practiced Veterinary Medicine in England, Uk. for about 8 years. He was born in Madrid, Spain and is fluent in English and Spanish but also in Italian and Portuguese. He has a special interest in internal medicine and surgery.
Dr. Simon enjoys spending quality time with his teenage son along with reading, exercising and smoking with his BBQ pit in his spare time.
Dr. Lucas D. Coatney

Dr. Lucas D. Coatney is a 2018 graduate from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine. He was born and raised in Spring, Texas where his immediate family still lives today. He attended Texas A&M University for his undergraduate course work and received a Bachelor of Science with a degree in Vertebrate Zoology and a minor in Biology. Dr. Coatney is Fear Free Certified and uses techniques to alleviate stress and anxiety in pets during their visit to the hospital.While there, he met the love of his life Kayla, when the two were lab partners during an Intro to Chemistry class. The two have been happily married since 2014 and has a young daughter.
He has a special interest in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, but loves all aspects of medicine. Dr. Coatney shares his time with Cross Creek Veterinary Hospital and Kingsland Blvd animal Clinic, He strives to create a comfortable and pleasant environment for all his patients and clients alike while at the hospital. In his spare time he enjoys any outdoor activity including golfing, fishing and camping. He avidly follows all Houston sports teams including the Texans, Astros, and Rockets, and is also a die-hard Aggie sports fan.
