Regular dental care is vital to your pet’s overall preventive health care program for a number of reasons. The benefits of routine dental hygiene include reduced bad breath, better overall health, decreased pain, increased longevity, and reduced pet health care bills down the road. During the course of your pet’s regular wellness exam, we will check his mouth for signs of dental disease or abnormalities, and make recommendations for a dental care routine you can maintain and that is right for your pet. Often, however, your pet’s dental health is not as obvious as the amount of dental tartar on his teeth or the presence of infection along the gum line.
Our veterinary clinic offers digital dental radiography to find hidden dental structures, malignant or benign masses, bone loss, and cavities in your pet’s mouth. Used along with regular complete dental cleanings under anesthesia, dental x-rays can help maintain a healthier oral cavity, contributing to a longer and healthier life.
